2023 CREATIVE WEDDING TRENDS

We have loved seeing more mismatched bridesmaid’s dresses over the last couple of years and this year, wedding parties are becoming even more relaxed about their dress code to reflect the couple’s personalities.  Mismatched prints, bolder and stronger colors, florals, polka dots and interesting fabrics.  At the 2023 Bridal Fashion Week billowing sleeves, embroidery, detachable skirts and sheer fabrics floated down the runway.  The most striking was how color is being used among designers. Pastel pink and baby blue is the new white!

One of the most adored parts of wedding planning is taking your partner to a bakery to indulge in a sweet cake-tasting. With an overwhelming amount of options, the flavor isn’t the only aspect to look into.  “It’s less about flavor; most couples are choosing flavors they love — and more about the look of the cake,” Lauren Kay of the Knot notes. “Extra grand cakes are taking center stage (I’m talking 4+ tiers), along with highly textured designs featuring brush stokes, crinkled paper and stencils.”

Love the color of your birthstone? Why not take the idea of your birthstone color and add it to your wedding decor.  You can add in your birthstone color to your floral displays, table linens, wedding invitations, and more. Create a colorful theme or add your birthstone colors as an accent to your decor.

Florals are always a lovely touch — wedding or not — and it’s important to select in-season blooms and to keep your color palette in mind when selecting your arrangements. More couples have been environmentally (and financially) sustainable with their wedding choices over the last several years, and that trend is expected to continue in 2023.  Flowers are a big trend this year and we’re seeing them come to life as swirls around cake tiers creating a waterfall-like effect. Pressed flowers are also making a huge statement.  Expect to see wedding ceremony aisles flowing with recycled floral arrangements or potted plants – a cost-saving measure that’s gorgeous and environmentally friendly.

Pinterest pinners are seeking out petite bouquets leaving behind the wild abundant arrangements we’ve seen in years past.  The chic hand helds are made of dainty blooms – like lilac, cosmos, astilbe, lavender and lily-of-the-valley and look elegant paired with the wedding dress.  For the men in the wedding party, the eye-catching pocket square boutonniere is rising to popularity replacing the traditional pin boutonniere.

Being kind to the environment will be a major consideration from Catering using local produce and suppliers to zero tolerance for plastics.  Eco conscious celebrations décor will be more natural and organic.  For the ceremony and reception venue you will see plants and natural material props such as wood, rattan make a big trend statement – A most popular trend among millennials.
